MATCH PREVIEW
Saturday 28th January 2012 - 3.00pm
Poole Town V Mangotsfield United - Evo-Stick Southern Division 1 South & West
Poole Town Team News
Poole will be boosted by the return of captain Michael Walker to the side following his recent suspension. Glenn Howes will also be back in the squad but Steve Smith will miss out due to illness. Dolphins have also been boosted by the return of defender Lamin Dibba following a three month injury lay off. Saturday's match will come too soon for him but he is set to feature in the reserves next week as he bids to get his match fitness back.
Match Preview
Poole could have moved into the play offs in mid week if they had grabbed the three points away at Clevedon. They were not able to do so but have another chance of rising into the top five if they can come out on top at home to Mangotsfield. That loss at Clevedon was the Dolphins first league defeat for nine matches and they will be looking to bounce straight back to winning ways at Tatnam.
Mangotsfield will go into this match low in confidence following four consecutive defeats and only two wins in eight games. United were one of the teams fancied for promotion at the start of the season but, despite a decent start, have fallen behind the chasing pack and currently sit in mid table. Their cause was was not helped in the week as their top scorer, Tom Knighton, left for league rivals Yate Town following a seven day approach from the Gloucestershire side. They will be desperate to replace him with another proven goal scorer but it may not happen before Saturday's game leaving them slightly bare up front.
Last Meeting
Mangotsfield 2-1 Poole Town - 20.8.11
Mangotsfield earned a narrow win over the Dolphins the last time these two teams met back at the start of the season. Will Spetch grabbed the goal for Poole in a match that could have gone either way.
