Poole marked their 14th anniversary at Tatnam with a hard fought narrow victory. Poole came in to this game with 2 players injured (Walker & Preston) and finished with a further 2 injured (Pettefer and Burbidge).  Tommy Killick had said this would be a physical encounter and this proved to be correct.   Crunching tackle after crunching tackle came in with the referee reluctant to punish players. 6 seasons ago there were 6 leagues between these teams – but today there was little difference between them. The first half was largely a non event with little momentum and both teams resorting to long range efforts. Holders Poole Town have been drawn away to Gillingham Town in the 2nd Round of the Dorset Senior Cup. The match is scheduled for 28th October 2014 – 7.45pm kick off. The league match at Cirencester will now be rearranged.
