Chairman’s Blog 7

CHAIRMAN’S BLOG 7 For this my latest “Blog” I wanted to stress to all Poole supporters just where the Board of Directors of the Club are coming from bearing in mind our current league position. Absolutely nobody on the Board nor anyone within the management team or playing staff is giving any thought other than to ensure that our National League South status is preserved. Our entire focus is on turning things round and I can confirm that if Tom gets the opportunity to make a new signing or two which will further strengthen the squad then the Board will […]

24/02/18 – Braintree Town V Poole Town

Another home defeat on Saturday will do little to ease the relegation worries at the Black Gold stadium. Perhaps the most worrying aspect of this defeat was the manner in which we conceded 3 first half goals that exposed our defensive frailties to a team that we beat 4-0 the last time we met them. This Saturday sees us travel to The Ironmongery Stadium to take on Braintree who are experiencing difficulties of their own. When we lost 3-0 to them in November they went to the top of the table ahead of Dartford. We played the second half of that game with 10 […]

17/02/18 – Poole Town 0 V Eastbourne Borough 4

Poole had won 4-0 away at Eastbourne earlier in the season, but Eastbourne did the same to Poole in the return fixture.                     Sloppy defending combined with excellent finishing gave Eastbourne a 3 goal half time lead.  Poole certainly seemed to miss captain Whisken who was unavailable for this fixture.  The first goal came after only 4 minutes when a simple pass set Dawes through and a strong run and cool finish gave Eastbourne the lead. Poole were almost level when a quick break saw Bentley lob the keeper but hit the […]

Nick Hutchings’ Appeal Upheld

Poole Town FC have been informed by FA this afternoon that the appeal lodged against Nick Hutchings’ dismissal V Havant and Waterlooville has been allowed. So the red card has been rescinded and he is free is free to play against Eastbourne at the Black Gold Stadium this Saturday Feb 17th. It is clear from the match video highlights that this is the correct decision and it is to be welcomed. The dismissal happened with under a quarter of the game gone, resulting in the Dolphins playing over 70 minutes, with ten men, on one of the biggest pitches in […]
