New President and Vice-Chairman Announcef

There have been two new appointments of great significance at the Club.

Firstly, Clive Robbins, Chairman of the Football Club from 1991 to 2017, has agreed to accept the role of Club President.

Secondly, Richard Gale, a recent appointment to the board, has accepted the board’s offer to become Vice Chairman.

Clive has felt that after serving the Club so well for 27 years that the time had come for him to step down as a Director and allow the board, which has recently been augmented by new additions, Andy Noonan and David Reeves joining the board in 2017 and Richard Gale and Shaun Spencer-Perkins joining the board more recently to take the Club forward into the new season and beyond.

Clive has been such an important part of the Club’s history since he, his father Arthur and current Chairman Chris Reeves rescued the Club from its liquidation under the previous regime and the board are absolutely delighted that Clive has accepted the role as Club President.  A title which befits his fantastic contribution to the Club over the best part of three decades.  Clive has agreed to continue in an ambassadorial role and has promised that he will be a frequent visitor at the Club’s games both home and away going forward.

Whilst Richard Gale has been a relatively recent appointment to the board he has been a friend of the Club for a considerable number of years.  The way in which he has tackled his role as a director with such initiative and enthusiasm has impressed everyone with whom he has come into contact.  The board are particularly delighted that he has accepted the invitation to become Vice Chairman and believe that that title will underpin Richard’s role within the Club and be a significant statement in terms of the Club’s progression.
