Poole Town FC new Reserves Team for 2018 2019 season

Poole Town FC are delighted to announce that for the season 2018 / 2019,   we will be running a reserve team to push our talented young players closer to our first team .  Playing adult football will help bridge the development gap between youth and first team football.   Look out for further announcements in the next few days.

Dylan Goes To School

It is national Walk to School week and the Children of Ad Astra Infant School, Canford Heath, were walked to school by a VID (Very Important Dolphin). Poole Town FC mascot, Dylan the Dolphin, walked with the children and parents from the neighbourhood centre to the As Astra school as part of the campaign to encourage children to walk or ride to school rather than go by car. Tommy McGhee May 10, 1929 – May 19, 2018 RIP

Sadly we have to report the passing of another legend from the golden era. Tommy McGhee arrived at Poole in July 1960 from Reading. He played 285 times scoring 21 goals until he retired in May 1967.  During the period Poole also reached the FA Cup 1st Rd on 2 occasions.  1962/63 losing in the replay at home v Watford.  1966/67 losing at home v QPR. Tommy also starred for Portsmouth and you can read the obituary on the Pompey website HERE

We are pleased to announce that Poole Town will play Torquay United on Saturday 14th July 2018  at 3.00pm. Torquay are likely to bring a full first team squad to the Black Gold . The Gulls were relegated at the end of last season and will be as determined ad the Dolphins to make a good start in this pre-season friendly match. Admission prices will be advised soon.

Callum Brooks

      Callum Brooks has been offered and has accepted the chance to manage Hamworthy United. Callum has long held an ambition to be a Manager in his own right if an attractive opportunity arose. He leaves on the best of terms and with our thanks for a brilliant job done whilst in our service. He is a great coach and will be a great manager. Callum is very much involved with other projects within the Club away from the first team and his involvement with those projects will continue.

Club Announcement Having given the matter a lot of thought and having carried out a fair amount of research in terms of what other clubs are charging we have decided to keep our admission charges the same as they have been for the last couple of years. With ever increasing costs,meeting our liabilities and increasing our income is an ongoing concern. Raising admission prices however was something with which the board did not feel comfortable.
